- v první řadě se nenechat odradit na CZ lince technické podpory Compaq
- zapojit, spustit, vložit Compaq SmartStart and Support Software CD a zvolit zkušenou instalaci - Linux
- nastavit RAID pole, doporučuji RAID5
- restartovat, vložit disketu pro instalaci ze sítě a začít normálně instalovat Linux (lze použít i Linux inst. CD)
- po instalaci server poběží, ale větrák bude vydávat zvuky jako při startu letadla
- připojit se na http://www.compaq.com/ > support > servers a stáhnout si Compaq Foundation Agents for Servers - Red Hat Linux
- ihned po instalaci se ventilátor uklidní
- nainstalovat UPS podle návodu k instalaci UPS
- nainstalovat SETI@home :)

- vložte CD SGI XFS for Red Hat Linux 7.2 Installer, restartujte
- postupně vložte CD RedHat Linux 7.2 Enigma disk 1 a 2
- po instalaci si stáhněte z Internetu Health and Wellness Driver & Compaq Integrated Management Log (IML) Viewer for Red Hat Linux 7.2 (2.4.7-10 kernel) - http://www.compaq.com/ > support > servers, instalujte, ihned po instalaci se uklidní ventilátor
- nainstalujte UPS podle návodu k UPS
- nainstalujte SETI@home :)

Instalace RedHat 7.0 bezproblémová.
Server je vhodný jako PDC pro síť Windows NT, postup zprovoznění najdete na http://hufhendr.spok.cz
